Summary Description

As an OAK counterperson, you are in direct contact with OAK customers more than any other teammate. Your ultimate responsibility as an OAK counterperson is to contribute to OAKs sterling reputation by displaying professionalism and providing premier customer service.

Essential Job Duties

· Provide positive and professional customer service including phones, email and walk in interactions.

· Show product value by teaching customers speed and ease of use against lowest price.

· Monitor the store email inbox, respond to inquiries, direct emails through the proper channels, and process email orders.

· Collaborate with location managers, delivery drivers, outside sales, tech reps, IMS specialists, and front office personnel. Ensuring clear communication on all information related to the status of location stock orders and add-ons, inbound vendor orders, product demonstration and customer problem-solving assignments.

· Accurately pull and invoice orders, creating backorders and documenting lost sales when applicable.

· Stage pulled orders neatly in the delivery area, assist delivery drivers in double checking pulled orders, and make corrections when necessary.

· Assist delivery drivers with finalizing orders and loading delivery vehicles.

· Accurately process cash, check, and credit card payments.

· Accurately issue credits on returns and defective items, when appropriate.

· Research, analyze, and answer customer inquiries.

· Follow up with customers on backordered item anticipated arrivals.

· Utilizing PPG color tools, assist customers in selecting and matching colors.

· Prepare custom mixed colors and full aerosol cans for customers.

· Keep the showroom and warehouse areas clean and well displayed.

· Keep inventory properly rotated, when applicable

· Assist store manager in posted daily sales inventory checks.

· Participate in internal Teammate training and vendor provided training.

· Knowledge of automotive paint distributorship and technical product.

· Familiar with products, materials, tools, and services of the Collision Repair Industry

· Familiar with manufacturers, vendors, suppliers.

· Sales presentation ability.

· Solid collaboration skills with customers, employees and leadership.

· Cost-conscious and risk-aware; maintain an awareness of product and service liability issues.

· Computer proficient; manage computer operations and data maintenance (non-accounting).

· High attention to detail and process thinker; analyzing, calculating, negotiating, creating, conceptualizing, communicating, listening, etc.

· Self-starter who demonstrates a sense of urgency in the work performed, oriented toward making a career in the automotive paint distribution field. Ongoing learner, especially with industry trends and technology.

· Good communication skills, verbal and written with legible handwriting.

· Basic Business Math: ability to calculate amount of material a customer needs, making change, keeping a cash drawer, etc.

· Reading Comprehension: ability to read and research to be able to understand use of products, tools, catalogs, etc. properly.

· Short-term and long-term memory of multiple customer transactions.

· Proficient with a computer and ability to work with computer related equipment (keyboard, mouse), bar code scanner, copier, or printer, and view a standard computer screen for approximately 8 hours per day.

· Knowledgeable in the use of common industry tools:

· Paint mixing equipment

· Rapid Match or XI

· Tolerate stress from the demands of Teammates, customers, and vendors, all of whom want timely services. Controlling emotions, such as anger towards a customer, vendor or another Teammate.

physical abilities

· Identify and match colors: Normal color vision (using Ishihara’s Tests for Color Blindness.) Move a standard two-wheel dolly carrying up to 4 boxes (4 gallons of paint in each box weighing approximately 160 pounds) for 100 yards.

· Walk and stand for a minimum of 2 1/2 hours at a time.

· Walk quickly, often while carrying 5-55 pounds of material.

· Confidently climb a 5-foot ladder and reach with both arms removing material weighing 15 pounds from a shelf, which may be 10-12 feet high.

· Move and climb a flight of rolling stairs for the stocking and removal of product from high shelves (10 feet or more).

· Speak clearly to be heard both in person and over the phone.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
